About Archibaldo Lora

Archibaldo Lora is a first generation Latino American, who immigrated with his family from the Dominican Republic and grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. He gained his undergraduate B.F.A. in Illustration from the Lesley University College of Art & Design.

Working in a variety of mediums, his work consists of mixed media collage, as well as, hand drawn elements.

“The thematic core of my work revolves around the interconnectedness of perception/memory/identity, and the time it takes to forget. I am fascinated by the malleability of memory, how it shapes who we are and how we see others. Through my art, I aim to prompt viewers to reconsider their own narratives and question the fluidity of identity over time. The concept of longevity is embedded not only in the physicality of the materials I use but also in the lasting impact of the narratives I attempt to construct.”
